Born in Miami, Salwa attended high school in Germantown Tennessee after which she obtained her Bachelors in Finance, Masters in Business Administration and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Memphis. At the University of Memphis, she served as Chapter President and Chapter Vice President of Finance of Pi Beta Phi. While in law school, Salwa was a recipient of the Memphis Access & Diversity Scholarship Award. She was admitted to the bar in 2013. Proficient in Arabic, she assists large publicly traded companies, Governmental and Quasi-Governmental entities, and locally owned private businesses in the defense of on-the-job injury and workers’ compensation claims.

Rob Briley Headshot

Rob Briley

Rob Briley graduated from Montgomery Bell Academy in 1985 and then attended the University of Colorado in Boulder from which he graduated in 1991 with a degree in Political Science. Rob received his J.D. from Vanderbilt Law School in 1997, and then completed a judicial clerkship with Judge Thomas Brothers.
 
In 1998, Rob was elected to represent the 52nd Legislative District in the House of Representatives of the 101st Tennessee General Assembly. He was re-elected to the 102nd – 105th Tennessee General Assemblies. He served in several leadership positions during his 10 years in the House, including Majority Floor Leader and Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.
 
Rob joined Shuttleworth PLLC in October of 2009 with a focus on civil litigation as part of a general trial practice.

John R. Cannon, Jr. is a partner in Shuttleworth PLLC. Mr. Cannon is an experienced trial attorney who has handled personal injury cases for the plaintiff and the defendant in State and Federal Court at the trial and appellate levels.
 
Mr. Cannon graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1971 and the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphries School of Law in 1974. Mr. Cannon has practiced law in the Memphis and West Tennessee area since 1976. He has been a partner in both The Hardison Law Firm and Shuttleworth PLLC. Mr. Cannon has also been a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 Listed Mediator since 1999. He has mediated many complex matters, including medical malpractice and products liability cases.
 
Mr. Cannon is a member of the Memphis Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association. He has served President of the Memphis Bar Association (2011) and has been on the Board of Directors twice, 1989 to 1991, and 2005 to 2007. He has also been a hearing committee member for the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility. He is an AV rated lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell.

Vickie Moffett Cruzen joined Shuttleworth PLLC in September 2012. Her practice is concentrated in the areas of insurance defense, premises liability, products liability, employment, labor, and worker’s compensation.
 
Ms. Cruzen graduated summa cum laude in 2002 from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She graduated from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2005.
 
While attending law school, she won the 2004 Advanced Moot Court Competition, placing first in both team oral argument and appellate brief. She was awarded the Dean’s awards for excellence for Best Memorandum and Best Appellate Brief for Legal Methods 2002-2003 and received the Trial Advocacy CALI Award in 2004. While in law school she was involved with the Tennessee Journal of Practice and Procedure and had an article published in its Spring 2003 Volume.
 
She has been involved with the Trial Lawyers Association of America, the Association of Women Attorneys, Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, the American Bar Association, The Tennessee Bar Association, the Memphis Bar Association and the Young Lawyers Division.

Edward Inman Curry, III, is an AV rated attorney and member of the firm. Ed is the firm’s managing member. His insurance defense litigation practice has included the representation of a number of Fortune 500 companies in the areas of insurance coverage disputes, construction defect claims, rental car company liability, premises liability and product related claims. Edward is licensed to practice in all state, federal and appellate courts in Tennessee as well as the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Torts and Insurance Practice, the Tennessee Bar Association, the Memphis and Shelby County Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute and listed in Best’s Insurance Counsel.
 
Edward is a Robert E. Lee Scholar and Honors Graduate of Washington and Lee University where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He served as Chairman of the Arizona delegation for the 1980 Mock Convention, was a board member of the Young Republicans and interned with the Republican National Committee in Washington, D.C. After graduating from Washington and Lee, Edward worked as a management consultant for an industrial/organizational psychology firm conducting training seminars for senior management primarily in the chemical and utilities industries.
 
He is a graduate of the University of Memphis Law School having received his Juris Doctorate in 1984. While in law school, Edward was active in Phi Alpha Delta, Moot Court and the Quattuore Society.

Michael Gregory Derrick Headshot

Michael Gregory Derrick

Michael Gregory Derrick is the Chair of the firm’s Coverage Practice Group. Mr. Derrick has a background in Insurance and Risk Management with experience in claims, production, underwriting, and loss control. He previously worked in-house for a major commercial property and casualty insurer as well as for local, regional, and international brokers. He has had extensive involvement in both the domestic U.S. and overseas London markets, implementing and managing a multitude of insurance and risk management programs with a particular emphasis in product and professional liability and coverage. Mike was conferred the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (“CPCU”) professional designation by the American Institute for Property and Liability Underwriters in Malvern, Pennsylvania in 1987. For more than 30 years with the firm, he has routinely advised and represented stakeholders in a wide variety of insurance coverage and indemnity matters. Before joining Shuttleworth PLLC, he was Vice President and Counsel, at Willis Towers Watson predecessor, Willis Corroon Nashville.
 
Mike is a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 Listed Civil Mediator. He is licensed to practice law in Tennessee as well as admitted to the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the Eleventh Circuit; the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Tennessee; the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas; and, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. He has also been admitted pro hac vice in litigated disputes in over 20 states.
 
Among the professional organizations in which Mike has held membership or affiliation include the American Bar Association; ABA Law Practice Section; ABA Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section; Excess, Surplus Lines and Reinsurance Committee; Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee; the Tennessee Bar Association; the Memphis Bar Association; Tennessee Association for Justice; and The Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) Society. Brandi Randesi

Brandi Randesi

Brandi Randesi graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2004 with a degree in criminal justice. She received her Juris Doctor from the Nashville School of Law in 2010. Throughout law school, Brandi worked full time as a paralegal with Shuttleworth PLLC and has been employed with the firm since 2007. Upon graduation, she was hired as an associate attorney.
 
Mrs. Randesi primarily focuses her practice on civil litigation, most specifically in insurance defense. She is licensed to practice law in all Tennessee State Courts, the United States District Courts for the Middle and Western Districts of Tennessee and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. She is a member of the Nashville Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Young Lawyers Division.
 
She lives in Bell Buckle, Tennessee with her husband Erik and their son, Gabriel. She enjoys volunteer work, gardening, working on her family farm, turkey and deer hunting and serving on missions teams. She is an active member of her church, New Vision Baptist Church.

Lane Wolfenbarger is a member of the firm and serves as the managing member of the firm’s East, Tennessee office and currently serves as the General Sessions and Juvenile Court Judge for Grainger County, Tennessee. Given the population of Grainger County, however, Mr. Wolfenbarger is afforded by statute the opportunity to continue practicing law.
 
Mr. Wolfenbarger has been in private practice in and around East Tennessee since 1997 and has extensive civil litigation experience. Mr. Wolfenbarger routinely represents large corporations, including regional, national and international companies, in litigated matters. Mr. Wolfenbarger’s practice is primarily devoted to commercial truck and auto accident claims, premises liability claims, general negligence claims, construction defect claims and banking law.
 
Mr. Wolfenbarger is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and the Nashville School of Law. He is licensed to practice in all Tennessee state and appellate courts and in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. Originally from Grainger County, Mr. Wolfenbarger currently lives in Blaine, Tennessee with his wife and son. Mr. Wolfenbarger is very active in his community, in 2022 he was appointed to serve on the executive committee of the Tennessee Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, he is the former City Attorney for the City of Blaine, Tennessee. Mr. Wolfenbarger serves on the Board of Directors for Douglas Cherokee Economic Authority, Volunteer Housing Development Corporation, and Grainger County Little League. He is also a Deacon at Rutledge Baptist Church, a mentor to high school students, and a coach of youth sports, having previously coached youth baseball, basketball and flag football.
